Reducing your energy costs doesn't have to be difficult! We all would like smaller bills, but many people mistakenly assume that saving energy requires significant investments or drastic lifestyle changes. However, in reality, even small tweaks to our daily habits can lead to reductions in our energy bills. We'd like to show you how!

The Wellness Connection

Energy saving is great-- but what does it have to do with your wellness? The positive implications can be felt in several ways!

Financially: alleviate some of the stress that comes along with managing your household's finances, and gain peace of mind that your funds aren't going to unnecessary energy expenses.

Environmentally: when we are proactive in conserving energy, we are contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future. This can instill a sense of purpose and responsibility, enriching your connection with the natural world.

In essence, being energy conscious not only eases our financial burdens but also promotes a holistic sense of wellness in our lives.

Ready to get started? See how many things you can check off our Fall/Winter Energy Saving Checklist below!

        • Unplug appliances or electronics you don’t use often. If it has a light, it’s using energy. (e.g. TV, video game consoles, chargers, toasters, coffee makers)
        • Let dishes air dry in the dishwasher
        • Use cold water when doing laundry
        • Set thermostat to 68 degrees or lower 1-2 degrees from what you normally keep it at
        • Let the light (and heat) shine in!  Open blinds and windows that get a lot of sunlight
        • Turn off water while brushing your teeth
        • Shut down computer and TV when not in use
        • Turn lights off during the daytime
        • Set your water heater thermostat to 120 degrees
        • Take shorter showers
        • Don’t leave bathroom fans running for too long-- they pull heat out of your home
        • Change your furnace filter regularly
        • Set refrigerator between 35 and 38 degrees F
        • Set freezer at 0 degrees F
        • Clean the lint filter in your dryer and use the auto-dry or moisture-sensor setting
        • Use LED bulbs
Simple acts, like shaving a couple minutes off your shower time each day, lowering the temperature on your water heater, or turning the thermostat down in the winter, can lead to noticeable monthly savings. The key is to be mindful and look for improvements.
