THE WELLNESS UPDATE
The Truth about Detox Diets & Cleanses

Detox diets and cleanses are often marketed as essential for eliminating harmful toxins that supposedly build up in the body over time, promising benefits like improved energy and weight loss. However, the concept of "detoxing" through restrictive diets or juice cleanses has little scientific backing.

While the idea of detoxing may seem appealing, your body is naturally equipped with a sophisticated detoxification system. The kidneys and liver are constantly at work cleansing your body and removing waste.

It's also important to consider the potential downsides of detox diets and cleanses. Though more research is needed, there is some evidence to suggest detox diets can lead to issues like kidney problems, irritability, fatigue, and vitamin and mineral deficiencies.

So, what can you do instead? Focus on nourishing your body with a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Drink plenty of water and limit alcohol consumption to support your body's natural detoxification processes. True health comes from practicing healthy habits like these every day, not just during a detox phase.

USER TIP OF THE MONTH

How long should it take for my activity data to sync?

One of the most common questions we receive at Motion Connected is related to how long it takes for activity data to sync to Motion Connected (MC) from a linked device. You've probably noticed it doesn't always happen instantly. Here's a little more about how it all works:

Garmin & Fitbit: Typically syncs to MC every 3-4 hours but may take up to 24 hours
Apple Health & Google Fit: Syncs each time the MC app is opened

Why the delay? Activity data has to stop a few places on it's journey before it reaches your MC account. The exact sequence varies depending on what device or apps you use, but you can use the information above as a general guideline.

If you notice your data is missing for multiple days, feel free to reach out to our support team for assistance by emailing support@motionconnected.com.
