THE WELLNESS UPDATE
Building Your Own Home Gym
Who says you need a fancy fitness center to break a sweat? Transforming a corner of your home into a personal workout space doesn’t require a massive budget or lots of square footage—it just takes a little intention and planning. Here are a few reasons why it could be a game-changer for your fitness routine:
- Say goodbye to commuting to the gym or waiting for equipment.
- Get easy access to build a consistent workout routine.
- Train however and whenever you want. It’s your gym, your rules!
- Save on cost. After the initial setup, you'll save over time without membership fees.
- It’s perfect for those who prefer to exercise without an audience.
How to Set It Up
- Choose a Space: A spare bedroom, garage, basement, or even a section of your living room can work—just ensure it’s well-ventilated and allows for movement.
- Start with Essentials: Include a mat for floor work; resistance bands, dumbbells, or kettlebells for strength; and cardio gear like a jump rope, bike, or treadmill.
- Add Storage: Use wall hooks, bins, or a small rack to keep your area organized.
- Optional Additions: Make it even better with mirrors, speakers, a fan, or even a tablet mount for guided workouts.
There’s no one-size-fits-all solution for building physical fitness, so don’t feel defeated if the gym isn’t the best option for you. Your home workout can be just as effective and health-boosting as any other.

NUTRITION CORNER
Nutrition Hack #4
Pair Vitamin C with Iron!
Iron from plants (like spinach or beans) isn’t absorbed as easily as the kind from meat—but vitamin C can give it a serious boost. Squeeze lemon on sautéed greens or add strawberries to your oatmeal to enhance iron absorption and keep energy levels strong.
